Introduction

This chapter is the book's own foreword, not a knowledge section to study for the test. It explains what the study material Sverige i fokus is for: it is aimed at people taking the citizenship test who want to show basic knowledge of Swedish society. The material was produced by Universitets- och högskolerådet (UHR) together with Skolverket, on the government's instruction, and the test itself is based on exactly this content. More information is available at uhr.se/utbildningsmaterial. The publishing details state that UHR issued the material in 2026, first edition, with a corrected version dated 2026-08-10, and that Skolverket handled production. Since this is only the preface, direct test questions on its content are unlikely, but it is useful to know where the material comes from and that the test is built on this exact text.
